Video Producer/Editor Neil Novello knows the edges of society, and the outliers who inhabit it. During a 20-year career of award-winning filmmaking, Mr. Novello has worked with people ranging from a MacArthur genius grant winning choreographer, Liz Lerman (“The Shipyard Dance”), to a black velvet art dealer in the US-Mexico border town (“Black Velvet Art”), to the die-hard practitioners of dirt track stock car racing in Mississippi (“Dirt: Thrills, Chills and Spills”), to immigrants and their experiences (“America: The New Immigrants”).

And under the banner of “Family Bio”, Novello has produced and edited 4 feature-length biographies of ordinary Americans.

But don’t use the adjective “ordinary” around this chronicler. “I don’t like references to people in a documentary as ‘ordinary,” Novello says. “Our experiences and how we handle them is worthy of discussion, from the resident down the street to a celebrity. You don’t have to be a celebrity to have an experience that’s important to remember. “A Life Remembered is a Life Honored”, this is the reason for Family Bio. “

Seen from Maine Public Television to the University of Mississippi to The Christian Science Monitor television, Novello’s documentaries have garnered several coveted awards -- Cine Golden Eagle and the Telly Award.

Mr. Novello’s over twenty year, award-winning background includes, documentaries, news/features, and instructional programs. He worked for The Christian Science Monitor Television operations in Boston producing news segments and was Line Producer of a ten-part documentary series, "The 90’s: Our World In Transition". His documentary from the ten-part series, "America: The New Immigrants” won the Cine Golden Eagle.

Mr. Novello was Program Director for The University of Mississippi’s award winning adult literacy tele-courses - Project LEAP. He produced the Telly Award winning, " “Weapons in the Classroom: The Law and Beyond" for the Oxford Unified School District and was Producer/Director of "The Nutrition Zone", a four-part educational nutritional series for low-income audiences.

In 1998, Mr. Novello formed The Iguana Division, Ltd., to produce family biographies, documentaries and institutional video communication tools.
